Permaculture is A-political.

For starters it is ethically based, therefore politics is ruled out! But seriously, if it became political in that way it would divide rather than bring communities together... Better to be a policy of all political streams, then it could become the uniting factor.

This is what I've always said. Even when describing how we can bring about radical social change, I'll point out that I'm not being political, I am simply analysing a system and improving it. I use the term governance rathe rthan politics, the former being the way that a local community decides to make it's managment decisions, the latter being so deformed and corrupted that we need to move away from it.

While it may seem like mere semantics, I prefer the term "leadership" over "governance." Leadership evokes the spirit of a respected authority figure—someone we trust and who embodies wisdom. It suggests guidance, inspiration, and the ability to rally people towards a common goal. In contrast, governance often implies control and authoritarian rule. True leadership is about earning trust and respect, not exerting dominance. It is about guiding with vision and integrity, fostering collaboration and innovation, and nurturing the collective strength of a community. This was my dive into permaculture and politics

No not in favour of permaculture politicians. As advisors yes. But as long as free market capitalist world nothing will work. The powerful are already in place. They do not want to relinquish their control of us and the money they make supposedly protecting and helping us.

Keep permaculture ideas at the grass roots for now until one day when we can use our skills and experience to fill the void which is bound to happen
