Thank you so much for keeping this knowledge alive, I heard Phil had passed away,pity. I had also got Hugh Ermens pamphlet many years ago, I've probably lost it. What I would love to try and do is gather together a list of all of the trees that propagate easily, I know there's many apples, and Hugh ermen had mentioned some green gauge and other plums as well, I know the best way is to experiment what it would certainly help if we had a list we could all share

Hi Steve, I am in the process of designing a coppice system using apples - based significantly on Ernst Gotsch’s syntropic agroforestry principles, and adapted for the climate of North Devon. This post has been really informative - thank you. I wonder if you wouldn’t mind me contacting you to talk through some of the ideas I’ve had? Everyone I’ve talked to so far has looked at me like I’m mad when I’ve mentioned coppicing apples…
